The door from the
street opens directly into the busy front part of the bar. This pub is almost
always busy in the evenings, situated as it is in the heart of the town centre.
Popular with people of all ages, there are pool tables upstairs in the old hayloft
as well as large screen TVs showing sport etc in the bar areas. The exterior
and old fireplaces add character and the daytime atmosphere is that of a traditional
market town pub. At the weekends The George is usually packed. Lots of noise
via the CD jukebox, lots of people. Party on! The beer here is courtesy of Benskins,
guest beers also feature sometimes.
From here, you
can step back out into Bucklersbury.
